Judge Darryl Edmondson is a lifelong resident of Union County and a respected attorney and jurist who has dedicated his career to serving the citizens of Maynardville and the surrounding communities. Since being elected as Union County General Sessions and Juvenile Court Judge in 1990, he has earned a reputation for fairness, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to the rule of law.

Judge Edmondson graduated from Horace Maynard High School before earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lincoln Memorial University in 1979. He later received his Juris Doctor from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1986 and was admitted to practice law in Tennessee in 1987.

Before taking the bench, Judge Edmondson established a private law practice in Maynardville, where he represented individuals and families in a broad range of legal matters, including family law, real estate, probate, juvenile law, personal injury, and general civil litigation. Over nearly four decades of legal practice, he has developed extensive courtroom experience and has earned the respect of both clients and fellow members of the legal profession.

Throughout his judicial career, Judge Edmondson has overseen thousands of General Sessions and Juvenile Court cases while continuing to advocate for justice, accountability, and compassion within the legal system. He has often spoken about the importance of strengthening families, addressing substance abuse issues, and preserving the values that make Union County a strong community.

Outside the courtroom, Judge Edmondson has remained deeply committed to Union County. He and his wife, Sandra, have raised their family in Maynardville, where they have been active members of the community for many years. His dedication to public service and local leadership continues through both his judicial responsibilities and his long-standing legal practice.
